Trajetórias e estratégias de estudantes bolsistas de iniciação científica da Escola de Enfermagem da UFRGS

Abstract

Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar trajetórias de estudantes de Iniciação Científica (BIC) em atividade vinculados ao curso de Graduação em Enfermagem da UFRGS e quais foram seus percursos escolares e familiares, considerando fatores socio acadêmicas e culturais. Pretendemos assim, responder ao seguinte objetivo: analisar trajetórias de estudantes BIC do curso de Enfermagem da UFRGS, recursos materiais e culturais que dispõem como jovens “herdeiros” ou “batalhadores”. Para alcançar o objetivo, buscamos inspiração em um arranjo metodológico elaborado a partir dos escritos de Pierre Bourdieu e Bernard Lahire, além do aporte teórico da sociologia de Jessé Souza. Trabalhamos com noções de trajetórias, capitais, habitus e disposições. A metodologia consiste em entrevistas longas, semiestruturadas e divididas entre eixos temáticos com sete estudantes bolsista de iniciação científica. Os resultados mostram que, apesar de os entrevistados não formarem um grupo social homogêneo e terem trajetórias individuais muito singulares, foi possível distinguir ênfases nos percursos. Identificamos e distinguimos aqueles que possuem maiores recursos materiais e culturais - os chamados herdeiros - daqueles que necessitam empenhar muito mais esforços próprios para realizarem seus percursos estudantis e para atuarem na iniciação científica. Ainda, nos casos estudados, não se evidenciou diferenças fundamentais entre as modalidades de bolsas de iniciação científica nos quais os estudantes estão inseridos. Reconhecemos a necessidade de novos estudos que aprofundem o entendimento sobre o funcionamento das modalidades de bolsas, a fim de compreender diferentes formas de distribuição das vagas e de atuação dos estudantes.

This research aims to investigate the trajectories of active Scientific Initiation (BIC) students linked to the Undergraduate Nursing course at UFRGS and what their school and family paths were, considering socio-academic and cultural factors. We thus intend to respond to the following objective: to analyze the trajectories of BIC students from the UFRGS Nursing course, material and cultural resources that they have as young “heirs” or “fighters”. To achieve the objective, we sought inspiration in a methodological arrangement drawn from the writings of Pierre Bourdieu and Bernard Lahire, in addition to the theoretical contribution of Jessé Souza's sociology. We work with notions of trajectories, capitals, habitus and dispositions. The methodology consists of long, semi-structured interviews divided into thematic axes with seven scientific initiation scholarship students. The results show that, despite the interviewees not forming a homogeneous social group and having very unique individual trajectories, it was possible to distinguish emphases in the trajectories. We identify and distinguish those who have greater material and cultural resources - the so-called heirs - from those who need to make much more of their own efforts to carry out their student careers and to participate in scientific initiation. Furthermore, in the cases studied, no fundamental differences were evident between the types of scientific initiation scholarships in which the students are included. We recognize the need for new studies that deepen the understanding of how scholarship types work, in order to understand different ways of distributing places and student activities.
