Considerações sobre o impasse psicoterapêutico

Abstract

O autor examina o problema do impasse em psicoterapia e em psicanálise e propõe ter ele, no seu conceito psicanalítico descritivo e estrito, pouca utilidade no processo psicoterapêutico propriamente dito. Ao contrário, sugere que o entendimento do conceito no seu sentido psicodinâmico mais amplo, como sendo essencialmente uma perturbação do campo terapeuta-paciente, faz dele um instrumento extremamente ennquecedor na compreensão das inúmeras vicissitudes que qualquer psicoterapia, incluindo a psicanalítica, está sujeita.

Upon the exploration of the stalemate problem in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, the author suggests that as far as its descriptive and strict psychoanalytic definition is concerned, it has a questionable use in the psychotherapeutic process properly. On the contrary, if its definition is amplified to include the psychodynamic dimension of a disturbance within the therapist-patient field, it can become an enlightning tool in the understanding ofthe various difficultíes thatany psychotherapy - including psychoanalysis - may face.
